We seem to have developed a new leakage problem with the loft deck sliding door, namely that water builds up in the interior track (for the half of the door that slides) and appears to seep down at the ends of the track where it interfaces with the door framing. We're going to start with some silicone and continue observing.
Has anyone else experienced this particular kind of leak ? (specifically from water building up in the interior door track and seeping down at the ends of the track ?)
sliding doors - water in track, leaks at ends ?
Re: sliding doors - water in track, leaks at ends ?
There have been a large number of these. Most have been repaired by removing the entire slider and placing a preformed pan underneath to catch and redirect the water back out. This has been very successful except in a very few instances where wind driven rain is actually pushing it's way around the seal in the glass and over running the pan.
There is a possibility of getting these sliders repaired through warranty by calling Shone Lumber in Georgetown "302-253-0200". In a lot of instances it is close to ten years so the only alternative will be to replace the entire slider.
